Xbox is preparing to release Series X bundles with Call of Duty – a photo has surfaced.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is one of the major hits of 2024. The game has performed exceptionally well in sales and has become a key title in the Game Pass subscription for the year. Microsoft plans to leverage the success of the shooter to attract players to the Xbox ecosystem, and the company has already prepared Xbox Series X bundles with the game.

A photo of Xbox Series X bundles with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has surfaced online. It seems that these bundles have started arriving in stores, and the specific photo below was taken at one of the warehouses in Japan.

As of now, their release has not been officially confirmed. It is known that Microsoft cannot promote Xbox alongside Call of Duty until the contract between Activision and PlayStation, which was signed before the companies merged, expires. This contract will end on December 31, 2024, after which we can expect Xbox Series X bundles with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 to go on sale.

Top 10 Most Successful Releases on Game Pass in 2024

2024 has been an exciting year for Game Pass in terms of new releases. This year marked the beginning of Microsoft adding Activision Blizzard titles to the service, including the first brand-new game from the publisher under Xbox—Call of Duty: Black Ops 6—which launched directly into Game Pass. However, there were many other notable releases from both internal studios and partners.

The portal TrueAchievements, which tracks statistics for over 2.4 million Xbox player accounts, analyzed the launches of games on Game Pass throughout 2024. They compiled a Top 10 list of the most successful releases on the service for the year, and unsurprisingly, the new Call of Duty installment claimed the top spot. Yet, the list also includes a few surprises.

Here’s the Top 10 new Game Pass titles of 2024 by player count during their debut week:

  1. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
  2. Palworld
  3. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
  4. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl
  5. Dead Island 2
  6. Diablo IV
  7. Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II
  8. Hell Let Loose
  9. Evil West
  10. Mafia: Definitive Edition

Key Highlights:

  • Analysts noted that Palworld debuted with 31% fewer players in its first week compared to Black Ops 6.
  • Dead Island 2 performed better on Game Pass during its launch week than both Diablo IV and Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II.
  • Mafia: Definitive Edition stands out as the oldest title on the list, originally released in 2020.
  • Interestingly, the list includes not only AAA games but also AA titles like Evil West and Hell Let Loose, which garnered significant interest despite being added to Game Pass after their initial releases.

The development of Fable was 'monstrously expensive' for Xbox, and it will be released on PlayStation 5," says Jez Corden.

In 2017, Playground Games opened an additional studio to work on the new installment of Fable. This June, the game finally received a release window, with plans for a 2025 launch, though the exact date has not yet been announced.

Prominent gaming insider Jez Corden, who recently reported that Xbox is moving away from full exclusivity for its games, confirmed that Fable is highly likely to be released on PlayStation 5. According to him, the game's development was "monstrously expensive" for Microsoft, making a multiplatform release more realistic as the corporation needs to maximize sales. Corden believes that Fable will "eventually" appear on Sony consoles, but it's far from certain that this will happen simultaneously with the Xbox release.

Earlier, insider Jeff Grubb stated that not all of Xbox's announced games for 2025 will actually be released next year. According to him, some projects are already planned to be postponed to 2026, which is why The Outer Worlds 2 was announced for a 2025 release. His statement was contradicted by another insider, NateTheHate, who claimed that all publicly announced Microsoft Gaming games for 2025 have not been postponed so far.

Fable is currently planned for release on Xbox Series X | S and PC, as well as being available on Game Pass.

Three Xbox games have been announced to have their servers closed in 2025

Every month, Xbox shuts down the servers for a certain number of games. In December, there were 10 such games. For January, three games have already been announced, and now there are additional details about three more projects whose multiplayer on Xbox consoles will completely stop working at the beginning of 2025.

On February 28, 2025, HB Studios and 2K Sports will shut down the servers for two golf games on Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S:

  • The Golf Club

  • The Golf Club 2

Both projects have already been removed from digital stores, and the purchase of in-game currency has been disabled. Until the end of February, you can play them online, after which this functionality will be completely disabled, and many achievements in the games will become unobtainable.

On March 13, 2025, Electronic Arts will shut down the servers for Xbox 360:

  • NCAA Football 14

This 2013 game has remained relevant and popular over the years, as it had no modern alternative. This year, EA Sports College Football 25 was released, meeting the needs of the project's fans.
